Regain your Sanctuary by decluttering your bedroom and bathroom.

Anyone else having “one of those weeks” with schools being closed due the omicron variant surge, weather elements, and other curveballs life has thrown our way? We have had to “faith our way through it”. Last week’s challenge was to declutter and organize the kitchen cabinets, under kitchen sink, drawers, fridge and pantry. Cheers to you if you managed to get around to it.

This week we’re going to tackle the bedroom and bathroom spaces.

Use these 4 tips to get and STAY organized in your bedroom and bathroom.

1. Set specific goals and break down your goals into manageable tasks for example, tackle a small area first then take it from there. One space at a time and pace yourself!

Under the bathroom sink is a great place to start!

2. Make sure to declutter before you go out to buy organizing products. When you declutter in your bathroom make sure to toss out old and expired products such as make-up, lotions, creams, travel- size toiletries, meds if you store them under your sink. Get rid of stuff you no longer need or use, donate any unused items to organizations such as shelters where someone else could really use them. Create space and don’t just buy stuff simply because it’s on sale, “might need it someday”. Remember every time you buy something you don’t need, you’re wasting money and inviting clutter into your home.

Once you’re ready for organizing products, these turntables are a GREAT investment.

3.Work with a system to help you manage and maintain for example, start with the area that bothers you the most, for example an area that will take more time or an area that requires a much deeper dive such as a closet and get it out the way. Once you’ve tackled that area it will get easier as you go…yes seriously because seeing the results of your work will give you momentum to continue.

No space is “too far gone"

4.Get in the habit of straightening up every day, just spend a few minutes at the end of the day to tidy up to prevent clutter from accumulating and this will help you maintain your organized space and give you mental clarity.
Did you know there is an actual link between environment, clutter, and mental health?
According to an article published in the Journal of Environmental Psychology, having a cluttered, chaotic, disorganized living space can have a negative impact on a person’s well-being.

Remember organizing is a journey not a sprint. Give yourself grace, it requires time, patience, willingness to see it through to the end. Remember your why and that should motivate you to keep going. I promise the end result will be so worth it and life changing.
As always, I am Cheering you on!
